PA 4/1/4/85 - (i) The United Nations General Assembly concludes debate on the question of Namibia with most speakers: • calling for the immediate implementation of Security Council resolution 435 (1978) ; • reiterating their rejection of South African attempts at linking the independence of Namibia with the withdrawal of Cuban forces from Angola; and • calling for the imposition of comprehensive and mandatory sanctions against South Africa under the United Nations Charter to compel her to relinquish her illegal occupation of Namibia.
